Who created Baseball?

Lots and lots of people say that Abner Doubleday invented baseball. But that is a myth. The person who made up the Abner Doubleday myth was Abner Graves. Abner Doubleday had nothing to do with baseball. He was a civil war hero. But the person who really invented baseball is Alexander Joy Cartwright. He was also the first umpire ever in a baseball game. He mostly played in America but he would travel around the world teaching people how to play baseball. He also started many baseball leagues around the world. He died in 1892. But in 1952, Congress marked him as the creator of baseball.
